Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu College,Kolhapur,a renowned co-educational institution in Kolhapur has already completed sixty years of excellence. Having its inception in1961, the college boasts of having been founded by a great academician and visionary philanthropist, and great social reformer, Late Padmabhushan Dr.Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil.Located in Sadarbazar, Kadamwadi Road ,Kolhapur ,the college has a beautiful ambience with playground, an imposing library and well equipped Swimming Pool of International Level.
It is affiliated to the Shivaji University Kolhapur. The college caters to the needs of financially deprived and educationally backward students as is the mission of the RayatShikshan Sanstha,

Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil (1887-1959) founded the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha in 1919 at the village Kale in Satara district. Mahatma Phule and Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj were role models before him.Realizing the need of spread of education for the masses,he started schools and hostels in villages ,Training colleges ,Voluntary Primary Schools ,Secondary Schools and finally colleges at Taluka places.His work proceeded in that order answering the needs of the lower strata of society.He had his own vision and educational philosophy which comprised education for all,
